Where are we?

We are in South-Central British Columbia, in the Cariboo (Chilcotin-Coast) region, about one kilometer off Highway 97, the road "between Cache Creek and the Yukon and Alaska", about 15 kilometers (9 miles) north of the little town of 100 Mile House, 80 kilometers south of the city of Williams Lake, 500 road kilometers, an easy day trip -via Whistler or Hope- from Vancouver, about 3 hours from Barkerville. The next stops of some guests of ours often are Jasper or Banff/Lake Louise in the great National Parks in the Rocky Mountains.

By the way, we are neither "a ranch" nor "on a ranch". Our little village used to be part of the historic 108 Mile Ranch - and kept the nostalgic name.

On the Trans Canada Highway # 1 > East > Hope, take Exit "Hwy. 1, > Fraser Canyon, Cache Creek, Prince George", in Cache Creek drive north on Hwy. No. 97 (NOT towards Kamloops; you are leaving the Trans Canada Hwy. here) > Clinton, 100 Mile House, (Williams Lake, Quesnel, Barkerville, Prince George);

(( )) when in 100 Mile House (see local map) continue north on Hwy. 97 for about 15 km; do NOT turn off Hwy. 97 at "108 Mall" and gas/petrol station, continue on Hwy. 97 for about 4 km; you pass the runway of an airport, you drive down a long hill; road signs: "Museum, Rest Area, B&B", you then see on your left the lake and a heritage site, old farm buildings, a public rest area, you turn off (left) the highway there; > immediately right on Kitwanga Drive, for about 1 km until you see a B&B sign on the road side, turn left there, into Chilcotin Crescent, at the next B&B sign, No. 4751, Arcona House, turn right.

From Vancouver via Whistler / Pemberton / Lillooet:

Directions, coming from the North:

>On Highway 97 … Prince George > Quesnel > Williams Lake > continue south on 97, Lac La Hache, approx. 12 km south of "downtown" Lac La Hache (gas stations, restaurants, the end of the lake) you'll see road signs "108 Mile Ranch, Trail Rides, Museum, Heritage Site, Rest Area, 108 Resort", (see local map) and then a lake on your right; turn right at that next exit, immediately right again > Kitwanga Drive./B&B. When you notice the next B&B sign on the right of the road, turn left into Chilcotin Crescent; about 80 m into Chilcotin Crescent turn right: our driveway, No. 4751, B&B, Arcona House.

If you should get lost in the village of 108 Mile Ranch, ask for "Henning" in the big yellow house right on the lake on Chilcotin Crescent ("V 18"). Most people know where we are.
